We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
Parents are integral to the St Michael’s Catholic Primary School Belfield community. Together with the teaching team, parents are significant partners in the education of their children. Workshops and information sessions are held regularly eg Helping your child with reading, Helping your child with numeracy, and workshops on resilience and wellbeing, STEM, cyber safety, etc.
Communication
We value and promote strong partnerships and communication with parents through parent-teacher interviews, written reports, fortnightly newsletters, and regular updates through COMPASS.
Parents and Friends
Our active P&F network contributes significantly to the life of the school and supports our educational endeavours. It is an opportunity for families to get to know each other and the staff of the school. All families are welcome and encouraged to be involved in the P&F initiatives throughout the year.
